Why should I do my laundry while I’m away?

You might be thinking, why do I need to wash my clothes while on holiday, I can do that when I come back. And you’re right, doing laundry while you’re away might not be the most appealing holiday activity but there’s nothing worse than having to tackle that pile of dirty clothes when you get back.

If you’re going away for a longer amount of time and already know you’ll need to do some loads while you’re away, it’s best to come prepared. Here are a few reasons why you should tackle your laundry as you go while travelling:

1.Save money

Using your own detergent, like the Ecoegg Laundry Detergent Egg, on the go means you don’t have to spend money on expensive laundry services or laundrette visits which can be expensive in touristy areas.

2.Pack lighter

Now that you know you’ll be able to wash your clothes easily while on the road, you can pack a lot lighter making your bag a lot lighter and travelling a lot easier.

3.Travel more sustainably

By using more sustainable detergents, like Ecoegg, you reduce your environmental impact of harsh chemicals and plastic bottles. Fewer laundry detergents mean less packaging waste.

Using Ecoegg on the go

Now that we’ve covered the benefits of washing as you go, we’ll take you through how to use our Laundry Detergent Eggs and share some top tips and tricks for doing your laundry on the go.

1.Prepare your Egg

You’ll want to start by getting everything ready. Make sure you’ve added all of the packets of pellets inside your Laundry Detergent Egg and pop it into a sink, bucket or deep dish and fill with water. Pop your Egg in and let it soak for around 10 minutes.

2.Handwash as normal

You’re ready to pop your clothes in and let the Egg work its magic! Leave the clothes to soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Give your clothes a quick rinse and they’re ready to be dried!

3.You’re ready to dry

If you’re travelling in a van or have the extra space, you could invest in a travel clothesline. These are perfect for hanging your clothes out to dry in your van or on trees when camping. It’s not a necessity though, you can always hang up clothes on the backs of chairs to dry. Don’t be scared to get creative!
