Designing in mind for sensitive skin has ALWAYS been at the heart of what we do. Our vegan founder, Dawn, first invented the ecoegg due to her eczema reacting to normal detergents. The revelation that it may have been her detergent causing her skin to flare up instigated the need to find a detergent gentle on skin, with no overpowering fragrances which may talk the talk in terms of smell but perhaps doesn’t walk the walk in terms of washing and skin health.
The ecoegg Laundry Egg in Fresh Linen, Spring Blossom and Fragrance Free, is rated ‘excellent’ by Dermatest for those with sensitive skin as it has a gentle formula and low levels of fragrance. Even better, our Laundry Eggs and Dryer Eggs have held Allergy UK’s ‘Allergy Friendly Product’ award since 2011.
The ecoegg Laundry Egg pellets DO NOT contain any palm oil, SLS or SLES, parabens, enzymes, phosphates or microplastics. This means less harmful chemical waste is being filtered down your drains into water systems – protecting the earth as well as protecting your skin. A strong flex from a gentle formula.

If you switch to an ecoegg Laundry Egg, you are significantly reducing your single-use plastic as it has been designed to replace both laundry detergent and conditioner.
55.8% of UK plastic waste WAS NOT recycled in 2021 (Gov.uk). Even with this statistic we cannot confidently say each item of plastic is genuinely being recycled. Our Laundry and Dryer Eggs aim to tackle the recycling issue; choosing to reuse laundry detergent over mass producing plastic bottles to recycle.
We have calculated that if you put a load of washing on every day, you could save up to 40 bottles each year per household. In 2021, total worldwide Laundry Egg sales helped to save around 15 million plastic bottles!
The Laundry Egg case is BPA free and recyclable and the Laundry Egg pellets do not contain any palm oil, SLS or SLES, parabens, enzymes, phosphates or microplastics.
The cardboard that we use for all our packaging is FSC approved from sustainable sources and is recyclable. We use vegetable-based inks for our print, which contain no petrochemicals.
